How Geofence Protection Works and How to Customize It

Understand how geofence alerts work, when they are triggered, and how to adjust Geofence Radius in Security Settings for your marina, mooring, or anchorage conditions.

Updated yesterday

Geofence Protection creates a virtual boundary around your boat and sends an alert if the boat moves outside that area. It becomes active when the system is in Protection Mode.

For stable locations, a tighter radius can provide faster movement detection; in marinas or anchorages with expected movement, a wider radius helps reduce unnecessary alerts.

How to set geofence distance

1. Open your boatโ€™s Boat Detail page.

2. Tap the top-right menu button.

3. Tap the cell with your boat name to open boat settings.

4. Tap Security Settings.

5. Tap Geofence Radius.

6. Set the radius distance to your preferred value.

Notice

Geofence protection is active only when the security mode is set to Protection Mode.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Too many geofence alerts.

Solution: Place the GPS antenna where it has a clear view of the sky (for example near a window/windscreen) and avoid nearby metal surfaces or structures that can block signal. If you still experience frequent alerts after this improvement, try increasing the geofence radius.
