You can invite other people to view your boat in the Vanemar App and manage their access at any time. Invitations are sent by email, so you can invite someone even if they do not have a Vanemar account yet.
Invite a user to your boat
To invite someone:
Open your boat in the Vanemar App.
Tap the menu button in the top-right corner of the boat screen.
Tap the cell showing your boat's name to open `Boat Settings`.
Tap `Users`.
Start a new invitation:
If no one has been invited yet, tap `Add User` on the empty screen.
If users or invitations are already listed, tap the `+` button in the top-right corner.
6. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
7. Tap `Send Invitation`.
Vanemar sends an invitation to the email address you entered. If the person already has a Vanemar account and is signed in to the app, they also receive a notification.
Note: The person does not need an existing Vanemar account when you send the invitation. Make sure you enter an email address they can use to create or access their account.
Accept or reject an invitation
Every invited user receives an invitation email.
If they do not have a Vanemar account, the email directs them to download the app and create one.
If they already have an account and are signed in to the Vanemar App, they also receive a notification. Tapping the notification opens the invitation response directly.
The invitation response shows two options:
Tap `Accept` to add the boat to the account and begin viewing it.
Tap `Reject` to reject and close the invitation without gaining access.
Find an invitation later
If the invited user does not open the notification, they can still respond from the app after signing in:
Open the settings menu in the Vanemar App.
Find the invited boat marked `Waiting for acceptance`.
Tap the boat.
Tap `Accept` or `Reject` in the invitation response.
View users and pending invitations
To see who has access to your boat and which invitations are still pending:
Open your boat in the Vanemar App.
Tap the menu button in the top-right corner of the boat screen.
Tap the cell showing your boat's name to open `Boat Settings`.
Tap `Users`.
The `Users` screen lists people who have access to the boat and invitations that have not yet been accepted.
Cancel a pending invitation
You can cancel an invitation before the invited person accepts it:
Open the `Users` screen in `Boat Settings`.
Tap the pending invitation.
Tap `Cancel Invitation` in the alert.
Confirm the action if prompted.
The invitation can no longer be accepted after it is canceled.
Revoke a user's access
You can remove access from a user who has already accepted an invitation:
Open the `Users` screen in `Boat Settings`.
Tap the user whose access you want to remove.
Tap `Revoke Access` in the alert.
Confirm the action if prompted.
After access is revoked, the user can no longer view the boat in the Vanemar App.
Notices
Invitations are linked to the email address entered by the person granting access. Use the email address that the invited person will use for their Vanemar account.
An invitation email is sent whether or not the recipient already has a Vanemar account.
App notifications are also sent to invited users who already have an account and are signed in to the Vanemar App.
A pending invitation does not grant access until the invited user accepts it.
Canceling a pending invitation and revoking accepted access affect only the selected person.
