Installing and Positioning Your Vanemar GPS Antenna

Learn how to properly connect, position, and mount your Vanemar GPS antenna for reliable GPS reception.

Connecting the GPS Antenna

Before mounting the antenna, make sure it is properly connected to your Vanemar Gateway.

  1. Locate the GPS antenna connector on your Gateway.

  2. Connect the GPS antenna cable to the designated connector.

  3. Make sure the connection is secure and the cable is not bent, pinched, or under tension.

Note: Avoid pulling on the antenna cable or applying excessive force to the connector.

Positioning the GPS Antenn

Choose a location where the antenna has the clearest possible view of the sky.

For the best GPS reception:

  • Position the antenna away from metal structures and other obstructions that may interfere with satellite signals.

  • If installing the antenna indoors, choose a location near a window or windshield with a clear view of the sky.

  • Make sure the installation location allows the antenna cable to reach your Gateway without being stretched or sharply bent.

Note: Some types of glass or window coatings may reduce GPS signal reception. If you experience GPS issues, try moving the antenna to a location with fewer obstructions.

Mounting the GPS Antenna

Choose one of the following mounting options to securely position your antenna.

Option 1: Double-Sided Adhesive Tape

Removing the protective backing from the double-sided mounting tape and pressing the GPS antenna firmly onto the mounting surface.

Step 1: Prepare the Surface

Clean and dry the mounting surface using the alcohol wipe provided.

Step 2: Attach the Adhesive Tape

Remove the protective film from one side of the adhesive tape and attach it to the bottom of the antenna (the side without the logo).

Step 3: Mount the Antenna

Remove the remaining protective film and place the antenna on the prepared surface with the logo facing upward.

Press firmly to secure the antenna in place.

Option 2: Magnetic Mount

Securing the GPS antenna to a flat metal surface using its built-in magnet.

Step 1: Choose a Suitable Surface

Select a flat steel surface where the antenna can be securely attached using its built-in magnet.

Step 2: Mount the Antenna

Place the GPS antenna on the selected surface with the logo facing upward. Make sure it is firmly attached and cannot move easily.

Securing the Antenna Cable

After mounting the antenna:

  1. Route the antenna cable carefully toward your Gateway.

  2. Secure the cable to prevent accidental pulling, movement, or damage.

  3. Avoid sharp bends, pinching, or placing the cable near moving parts.

Make sure the antenna remains securely positioned after installation.
