Overview

Proper installation of your Boat Moisture Meter and Temperature Gauge ensures accurate readings and reliable performance. The sensor is designed for simple, wireless placement with options for wall mounting or desktop mounting, depending on your onboard needs.

Safety and Preparation

  • Make sure your boat is securely moored before starting installation.

  • Work in a well-ventilated, clutter-free space.

  • Remove the battery insulation pull tab before pairing the device.

Choosing the Best Location

For the most accurate monitoring, place the sensor:

  • Indoors (e.g., cabins, salon, galley).

  • Away from direct airflow from heaters, air conditioners, or vents.

  • On a smooth, clean, and dry surface for strong adhesive contact.

Mounting Options

Option 1: Wall Mounting

  1. Attach the included adhesive tape to the back of the sensor.

  2. Press the sensor firmly against a smooth, solid, dry, and clean wall surface.

Option 2: Desktop Mounting

  1. Attach the desktop bracket to the sensor cover.

  2. Apply the double-sided adhesive tape to the bracket.

  3. Place it on a flat, stable surface and press firmly to secure.

Tips for Best Results

  • Test the mounting location before final installation to confirm strong signal to the Vanemar Gateway.

  • Avoid frequently moving the sensor once installed to maintain adhesive strength.

  • If replacing adhesive tape, ensure the surface is properly cleaned and dried first.
