Pairing Vanemar Battery Sensor

Step-by-step guide to pair or unpair your Vanemar Battery Sensor with the Gateway and App.

Updated yesterday

Overview

Pairing your Vanemar Battery Sensor ensures it can send real-time battery voltage data to the Vanemar App through the Vanemar Gateway. This quick setup is essential to start monitoring your boatโ€™s battery health.

Before You Start

  • Ensure your Vanemar Gateway is powered on and connected to the internet.

  • Download and open the Vanemar App on your smartphone.

  • Make sure your Battery Sensor is correctly wired to a battery.

Pairing Vanemar Battery Sensor Step-by-Step

  1. Open the Vanemar App and go to Devices.

  2. Tap the โ€œ+โ€ Add Device button.

3. Locate the networking button on the Battery Sensor.

4. Press the button once. The green LED will blink, indicating pairing mode.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to complete the process.

6. When pairing is successful, the green LED will stop blinking and remain solid for a short time.

Unpairing the Vanemar Battery Sensor

If you need to remove or reset the device:

  1. Press the networking button four times consecutively.

2. The green LED will remain solid, confirming the reset.

3. The device is now unpaired and ready to be paired again.

Tips for Successful Pairing

  • Ensure the sensor is within 100 meters (328 feet) of the Gateway in open conditions. Once paired, your Battery Sensor also strengthens the wireless mesh and may extend range for nearby devices. For details, see how to optimize and extend your Vanemar wireless sensor network.

  • If pairing fails, check if the device is already paired with another Gateway. Reset it before retrying.

  • Avoid sources of interference (e.g., heavy metal enclosures, other strong RF devices).
